Madeline G. Schaefer
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother
LOWELL Madeline G. (Clement) Schaefer passed away August 7, 2012 at Wesford House. She was the widow of the late Gerald J. Schaefer who died October 1997.
Born in Lowell on March 1, 1926, she was a daughter of the late William and Elsie Clement and was educated in the local schools.
She made her lifelong home in Lowell, and worked eighteen years for Educator Bisquit and Cracker before becoming affiliated with Raytheon Corporation in West Andover, where she worked for eighteen years before her retirement.
Madeline enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, and was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her two sons, Gerald Schaefer Jr. and his wife, Anna, and Bruce Schaefer both of Lowell; her five sisters, Sheila Lessard of Lowell, Joan Tourville of Dracut, Alice Gordon and her husband, John, of Dracut, Patricia Connors and her husband, John, of Lowell, and Pamela Whitney and her husband, Leonard, of Windham, NH. Madeline is also survived by seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, William Clement and John Clement.
Madeline’s family would like to give special thanks to the Staff at the Westford House and Hospice Care for the kindness and care they showed to her on a daily basis.
