Madeline ‘Maddy’ Betancourt-Sepulveda

LOWELL Madeline ‘Maddy’ Betancourt-Sepulveda, 37, of Tewksbury, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus, after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. She was the wife of Isberlin Sepulveda and mother of 4 beautiful children.

A daughter of Bernardo and Migdalia (Correa) Betancourt of Lowell, she was born July 24, 1976, in Puerto Rico, and came to the United States when she was three years old with her family, first settling in Holyoke, then to New York, Connecticut, and eventually settling in Lowell.

Madeline loved work that involved physical activity and helping people. She also worked with handicapped adults and did some volunteer work.

In addition to her husband, Isberlin, and her parents, Bernardo and Migdalia, she is survived by her children, Nylian Torres of Lowell, Gerazon Betancourt of Lowell, Diandra Sepulveda of Lawrence, and Madeline Seuplveda and of Lawrence; her sisters, Damaris Betancourt-Rodriguez and Cynthia Cintron both of Lowell; her brothers, Joshua Maldonado of Lowell, Moses Rodriguez of Holyoke, and Alex Betancourt of Florida; her niece, Clarissa Betancourt of North Carolina; her nephew, Anthony Betancourt of Lowell; her aunt, Maria Maldonado of Lowell; as well as many other extended family in Florida and Puerto Rico.

She was also a sister of the late Juan Manuel Betancourt.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS ON THURSDAY MORNING, NOV. 7, FROM 10:30 UNTIL 12 NOON AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD 12 NOON IN THE FUNERAL HOME, FOLLOWED BY BURIAL. IN MEMORY OF MADELINE, WHEN SENDING FLOWERS TO HER VISITATION, PLEASE CHOOSE PINK, RED, AND WHITE.
