Luz Maria (Reyes) McFaline
LOWELL Luz Maria (Reyes) McFaline, 83, of Lowell, passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Radius Northwood Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Emilio McFaline.
A daughter of the late Mario Matos and the late Maria (Reyes) Matos, she was born February 15, 1934 in Maya Guez, Puerto Rico, she was raised and educated in Puerto Rico. At a young age, she moved to Brooklyn, New York where she began to raise a family, eventually relocating to Lowell in the early 1970’s.
Maria loved to cook and dance and also enjoyed traveling, especially to the lake. She was deeply devoted to her faith and will be remembered by all who knew her as outgoing and generous, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. More than anything, time spent with her family is what she cherished most in this world.
She is survived by her children; Norma Ruiz of Brooklyn, NY, Ulysses McFaline of Lowell, Milagros Padula of Long Island, NY, Juan "Joe" McFaline of Lowell and John McFaline also of Lowell. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Anthony McFaline, Jared Michael McFaline, Anthony McFaline and Christina McFaline.
She was also the mother of the late Carlos "Charlie" McFaline.
YOU ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND HER VISITATION AND FUNERAL. HER VISITATION WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY JULY 19 FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
ON THURSDAY, HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 10 A.M. AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
ON THURSDAY A PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL AT THE WESTLAWN II CEMETERY IN LOWELL.
