Lucille M. Surprenant
Loved by Many

LOWELL       Lucille M. (Bibeault) Surprenant, 70, of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.   She was the wife of Edward R. Surprenant.

Born June 3, 1943, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah Bibeault and the late Elmira (Giguere) Bibeault.   She attended St. Jeanne D’Arc Grammar School and graduated from St. Joseph High School.

She resided in the Highlands Section of the City, and was a communicant of St. Margaret Church.  She worked for Honeywell and Wang Laboratories in Lowell for many years and and then for Diacom in Amherst, New Hampshire before her retirement.

Lucille was an amazingly kind and generous person with an enormous capacity to love and care for others. She served as a foster parent for many years bringing many young people into her home and family. Family was the most important thing in the world to Lucille. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother who enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She was also very close to many of her nieces and nephews and served as the matriarch of her family. She was greatly loved and her warm smile will be missed by many.

The mother of the late Michael Contino who died unexpectedly, February 16, 2014, she is survived by her children, Cheryl Walpole and her husband, James, of Westford, and Steven Brady and his wife, Kathy, of Tyngsboro; her five grandchildren, Jake, Owen, Kaitlyn, Matthew, and Meghan; her sister, Lorraine Laurin of Atkinson, NH; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was also the sister of the late Rita Gagnon, Jeannine Robert and Aline Rivet.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS 3 UNTIL 5 AND 6 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON MONDAY, MARCH 10.   ON TUESDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 8 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.  HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS ST., LOWELL, AT 9:30 A.M..  BURIAL IN ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY.   DONATIONS IN HER NAME TO AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION, MEMORIAL PROCESSING, 330 CONGRESS ST., 5TH FLOOR, BOSTON MA 02210.
