Lianne P. Johnston

LOWELL Lianne P. (Slager) Johnston, 60, of Lowell, MA, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, at New England Rehabilitation Health South in Lowell after multiple battles with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Johnston, with whom she would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary this June.

A daughter of the late Richard L. Slager Sr. and the late Patricia M. (Dumais) Slager, she was born September 18, 1956, in Lawrence, MA. She was raised and educated in the Salem, NH area, she was a graduate of Salem High School. She resided in Syracuse, NY for 10 years with her husband, Tom. Most recently, they relocated to the Lowell area to be closer to the rest of the family.

Lee enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She was always joking around and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was always there for her friends and family when they needed her and will be remembered as a source of inspiration to all who loved her. Most recently she worked as a testing coordinator with Prometric Testing in Burlington for 5 years before illness forced her early retirement.

Besides her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her children, Matthew Perry of Lowell, Dan Perry of Lowell, Jennifer Perry and her husband, Steve Teixeira, of Boston and Jared Perry of New York; her twenty four grandchildren; her sister, Kathleen Caffrey and her husband, Jay, of Salem, and Michele Dumont and her husband, Larry, of Rochester, NH, Richard Slager Jr. and his wife, Vickie, of Pittsfield, NH, and Timothy Slager and his wife Christine, of Franklin, NH; her step children, Andrea Raymond and her husband, Mike, of Syracuse, NY, and Shawn Johnston and his girlfriend, Lori, of Syracuse, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 2 UNTIL 4 P.M. ON THURSDAY, APRIL 6, AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERALSERVICE WILL BE HELD THURSDAY AT 4 P.M. AT THE FUNERAL HOME FOLLOWING THE VISITATION.
