Leontina Lurdes Silva
LOWELL Leontina Lurdes (Ramos) Silva, 84, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Arlindo Silva with whom she had celebrated their Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary this year.
A daughter of the late Bartolomeu and the late Ana (Melo) Ramos, she was born June 5, 1931, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal and was raised and educated there. She married the love of her life, Arlindo, and worked with him on the family farm while living in Portugal.
In 1966, she and her family came to the United States, settling in Lowell, where she made her home until her death.
Her passion in life, was spending time with her family as it brought her the most happiness. She also loved cooking, sewing, gardening, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, taking walks, and spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed spending time at the Blue’s Club and taking trips with the Portuguese Senior Center. She was also a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
She had worked as an Electro Mechanical Assembler for Wang Laboratories and had formerly worked in the area mills at Garment Factory.
Besides her husband, Arlindo, she is survived by her children, Luciano Silva and his wife, Fatima, of Ft. Pierce, FL, Joe Silva of Lowell, Manuel Silva and his partner, Diana Aucion of Lowell, and Anna Marie and her partner, Wayne Comeau, of Lowell; her five grandchildren, Belinda Silva and Brandon Silva, Brianna Silva, and Ariel Gauthier and Ryan Gauthier; a great grandson, Benjamin Silva; her sister in law, Balbina Ramos; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also a sister of the late Manuel Ramos, the late Noemia Picanso, the late Laudelina Silva, and the late Lidonio Ramos.

HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY’S PARISH, 893 CENTRAL ST., LOWELL AT 9:30 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY. MEMORIALS IN HER NAME MAY BE MADE TO ST.
