Leonard M. ‘Lucky Lenny’ Connolly
LOWELL Leonard M. ‘Lucky Lenny’ Connolly, 78, of Lowell, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Diana (Chubb) Connolly.
A son of the late Frederick N. and the late Clara R. (Zinck) Connolly, he was born May 21, 1937, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in the City.
Mr. Connolly was a proud member of the United States Army Reserves as well as the Veterans’ of Foreign Wars Post 662, Walker Rogers in Lowell.
He made his lifelong home in Lowell, for thirty seven years worked for Western Electric, which became AT&T, which was Lucent when he retired.
Lenny belonged to a bowling league for fifty years, and also enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending time at Foxwoods, watching the New England Patriots, and was also a member of the Lithuanian Club and the Lowell Senior Center.
In addition to his wife, Diana, he is survived by his son, Steven Connolly and his wife, Susan, of Hubbardston; his step son, Ronald Chubb and his partner, Renee Marion, of Lowell; grandchildren, Danielle Connolly Delage and her husband, Steve, of Southbridge, Jonathan Connolly of Hubbardston, and Lila Chubb of Lowell; his sister in law, Catherine Connolly of Hudson, NH; his daughter in law, Claudette McNamara of Worcester and numerous
nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was also the brother of the late Barbara Carney, the late Dorothy Brostek, the late Frederick Connolly, the late Joseph Connolly, and the late Patrick Connolly
YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 2 UNTIL 6 P.M. ON SUNDAY. ON MONDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET PARISH, 374 STEVENS ST., LOWELL AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST PATRICK CEMETERY. MEMORIALS IN HIS NAME IN LIEU OF FLOWERS TO THE SALVATION ARMY, 150 APPLETON ST., LOWELL MA 01852.
