Laurentine “Laura” Caselle
NORTH ANDOVER Laurentine “Laura” Caselle, 91, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Sutton Hill Nursing Home in North Andover. She was the widow of the late Annibale Caselle who passed away in 1985.
Born in Lowell on May 30, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Jose and the late Rosa (Picanso) Francisco, who had both immigrated from the Azores, Portugal.
She was raised and educated in the Lowell public schools, residing on North Street and later Sprague Avenue. She worked at Wannalancit Textile Company until it closed in 1981. She then worked at Honeywell for several years and later with CTI as a teacher’s aid.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony Parish and a life member of the Holy Ghost Society. She was devoted and active in her parish, serving on many church committees and the Holy Ghost Society. Laura loved to dance and she will be remembered fondly as the first one on the dance floor at all the feasts and church hall functions. She was also an avid bingo player and loved being around people
She is survived by her only son, Dr. Paul Caselle, and his wife, Adrienne, of Methuen; her granddaughters, Alexis Bancroft and her husband, Philip, of Westport, CT, and their children, Owen and Georgia; and Christina Grieco and her husband, Frank, of Union, NJ. She was the sister of the late Zelta G. "Sally" Correa.
