Jose G. Ramos
LOWELL Jose G. Ramos, 68, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at his home after a long illness with his beloved family by his side. He was the husband of Maria A. (DaSilva) Ramos, with whom he would have celebrated 46 years of marriage in March.
A son of the late Joao. and the late Cultilde (Lima) Ramos, he was born January 7, 1949, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal where he was raised and educated. In Graciosa he worked in a local pharmacy. He came to the United States in 1974 along with his wife and son, they settled in Lowell. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and a member of the Portuguese American Civic League “The Reds Club”. He also enjoyed fishing and was lifelong supporter of S.L. Benfica. Jose was employed as a production worker for 10 years with Commodore Foods in Lowell before illness forced his early retirement.
In addition to his dear wife, Maria, he is survived by his son, Joao Ramos and his fiance, Elsa Alves, of Lowell; his grandsons, Austin Ramos and Blake Ramos, both of Lowell; his brothers and sisters, Jorge Lima of Lowell, Carolina Ramos of New Jersey, Antonieta Bettencourt of Lowell, Antonio Ramos of Lowell, Maria Antonia of Graciosa, Azores and Joao Ramos of Cambridge. He is also survived by many in laws, nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gabriel Lima, the late Lina Avila and the late Manuel Gil Lima.

HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED TUESDAY AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL ST., LOWELL, AT 12 NOON. BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY, TEWKSBURY.
