John Souza Cafeteiro
Lifelong Lowell Resident

LOWELL John Souza Cafeteiro, 55, of Lowell, died unexpectedly, May 30, 2012 at his home.
He was born May 6, 1957, in Lowell, was a son of Ruth Cafeteiro of Lowell, and the late Dominick Cafeteiro. He grew up in Lowell and attended the Riverside School, the Joseph G. Pyne School, and graduated from Lowell High School.
He was a member of the Billerica Moose Lodge 2648, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing, horse racing and playing the lottery. He was an avid sports fan, and supported the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics. He was a very generous man, often volunteering his time at Saints Medical Center as well as the Open Pantry of Greater Lowell Food Bank.
Besides his mother Ruth Cafeteiro of Lowell, he is survived by his daughter, Sarah M. Catineau of Casselberry, Florida; three brothers, Dominick S. Cafeteiro of Lowell, David F. Cafeteiro of Lowell, and Stephen Cafeteiro and his fiancé, Kelly Proctor, of Chelmsford; and a sister, Audrey Keenan and her husband, Michael, of Lowell. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Ryan Cafeteiro and his wife, Natalie, of Lowell, Amy Cafeteiro of Tyngsboro, Michael Cafeteiro of Tyngsboro, Steven Cafeteiro of Chelmsford, Tori Cafeteiro of Chelmsford, and Christine Keenan of Lowell; he was also the great uncle of Nicholas, Andrew and Mathew Cafeteiro of Lowell. In addition, he leaves several aunts, including his very special aunt, Cathy Miele of Chelmsford, several uncles, many friends, and cousins, including Billy and Michael Miele.
He was the uncle of the late Adam Michael Keenan, and nephew of the late Elvira "Vera" Longtin.

ON TUESDAY MORNING, RELATIVES AND FRIENDS ARE WELCOME TO GATHER AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 9 UNTIL 10 A.M. FOR PROCESSION TO ST. PATRICK CEMETERY FOR A GRAVESIDE PRAYER SERVICE.
