John D. Sodre, Jr.

LOWELL        John D. Sodre, Jr, 54, of Lowell, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.

Born October 6, 1963, in Lowell, he was a son of the late John S. Sodre and the late June F. (Weir) Sodre, and was raised and educated in the local schools, graduating from Greater Lowell Vocational High School, Class of 1981.

He made his lifelong home in Lowell, and worked in construction for his whole life, opening Sodre Construction Company in 2000. He had also worked in the maintenance department of the Lowell Community Health Center for the past several years as well as for Adden Furniture years ago as the maintenance manager.

John enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle but most of all, enjoyed spending time and coaching his grandchildren, Noah and Mia.

He is survived by his son, Derek J. Sodre and his wife, Stephanie, of Dracut; his grandchildren, Noah Sodre and Mia Sodre of Dracut; his brothers, Kevin P. Sodre and his finance, Janelle Keusch, of Concord, NH, and Scott M. Sodre and his wife, Kerry (Kapala), of Lowell; his sister, Melissa A. Allcock and her husband, Edward, of Waxahachee, TX; as well as his nieces and nephews, Alicia, Christine, Scott, Tessa, Savannah, Shane, and Maren and his great niece, Abrianna 'Abby's Road' as he lovingly referred to her. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles including his Auntie Mary.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 3 UNTIL 7 P.M. ON FRIDAY.

ON SATURDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL ST, LOWELL AT 10 A.M..

BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
