John A. Troy
SALEM, NH John A. Troy, 72, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, May 27, at Salemhaven Long Term Care in Salem, NH.
A son of the late Helen C. (Mahar) Troy and the late William S. Troy, he was born August 1, 1944 in Lowell, he was raised and educated in the Lowell area.
Mr. Troy enjoyed a 28 year career in the textiles manufacturing field with Pellon in Lowell as a machinist. After his retirement in the 1990’s he worked part time as a security guard throughout the area.
He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Lowell and was a member of The East End Club. He enjoyed spending time at the club and could frequently be found at Rockingham Park taking in the races. John will be remembered by all as a “laid back guy”.
He is survived by his girlfriend of over 10 years, Diane Linscott of Derry, NH and her daughter, Marianne; his brother, William Troy and his wife, Jacqueline, of Pelham, NH; his sister, Maureen Troy of Lowell; his niece and nephew, David Troy and his wife, Linda, of Hudson, NH, and Michelle Tomeo and her husband, Rich, of Pelham, NH; his grand nieces and nephews, Samantha and Taylor Troy, Troy Tomeo and Cassidy Tomeo. He is also survived by many cousins including Theresa Masterson of Lowell.

FOLLOWING HIS VISITATION, HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED THURSDAY AT ST. MICHAEL CHURCH, 543 BRIDGE STREET, LOWELL, MA AT 12 NOON PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR HIS BURIAL AT ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS DONATIONS MAY BE MADE IN HIS NAME TO ST. MICHAEL CHURCH, AT THE ADDRESS ABOVE.
