Joan M. Zabbo
LOWELL Joan M. ‘Joanie’ Zabbo, 62, of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, June 15. She was born on August 19, 1953, in Lowell, a daughter of the late Francis “Lou” Zabbo, and his wife, Theresa (Yates) Zabbo. She grew up in St. Margaret’s Parish, in Lowell’s Highlands neighborhood.
She was educated in Lowell, graduated from Lowell High School, and later Northern Essex Community College with a degree in business. For many years she worked as an executive assistance in the finance industry in Boston before her retirement.
She is survived by her brother, Dan and his wife, Nancy of Dracut, her niece and nephews, Danny and Gabriella Zabbo, both of Dracut, Frank and Greg Zabbo, both of Tyngsboro; and her sister in law, Evelyn Zabbo of Tyngsboro. She is also survived by her dear friend, Marilyn Murphy of Plymouth.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, John Zabbo and Frank Zabbo.
