Jeannine R. Elias

LOWELL Jeannine R. ‘Jeannie’ (Legare) Elias, 69, of Lowell, died Monday, June 6, 2011, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 29, 1941, in Biddeford, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Roger Legare, and the late Marie (Dubois) Collins, and was educated in that area.

Jeannie made her home in Lowell, and had worked as a custodian for the University of Massachusetts at Lowell for fifteen years until her retirement. Her hobbies were her dog Bambi, as well as playing Bingo, Skip-bo with her best friend Terry, and she was a dedicated Elvis Presley fan.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Simmons of Maine, Richie Legare of Florida, Sherry Hesson-Haymaker of Pennsylvania, and John Wayne Hesson of Maine; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her brother, Armand Legare and his wife, Carol, of Lowell; her Godson, Robert Orr of Lowell; her nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Linda, Dwayne and Debbie, whom the family wishes to thank for spending such special times with their Mom.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER VISITATION 11 UNTIL 12 NOON ON FRIDAY, JUNE 10, AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816.
