Jeanne Freitas
CHELMSFORD Jeanne (Lorenzo) Freitas, 62, of Chelmsford, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Lowell General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Stanley P. Freitas, whom she traveled to Spain to marry while he was in the Navy.
A daughter of the late Rocco and the late Jean Marie (Breault) Lorenzo, she was born March 27, 1949, in Lowell, grew up in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School.
She made her home in Chelmsford for the past thirty five years, and worked for Mrs. Nelson’s Candy House in Chelmsford, and for Mitre Corp. in Bedford until her retirement. She loved crafts, especially knitting, crocheting, and painting. She also loved animals.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Stanley, of Chelmsford; her brother, Frank W. Lorenzo and his wife, Rose, of Lowell; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Frank Lorenzo and Brenda Lorenzo of Lowell, Susan Albrecht and John Albrecht of Dracut, Michael Lorenzo and his fiance, Lisa Dimatteo, of Salsibury, Kathy Anderson of Lowell, and Gina Verbickas and Dale Verbickas of New Hartford, NY; and several great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by her adoring dog Riley.
She was also a sister of the late Eleanor Halpin and her husband, Jack.
