James Joseph Kirwin, Jr.
LOWELL James Joseph Kirwin Jr., 70, of Manchester, passed away after a brief illness, on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Elliot Hospital, in Manchester, NH. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Cox) Kirwin, with whom he celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary this past August.

Born July 7, 1944, in Lowell, he was a son of the late James J. Kirwin, and the late Marie E. (Deignan) Kirwin. He grew up in Lowell, and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. He attended the Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Keith Academy, Class of 1962. He went on to St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree and attended Mount St. Vincent University, also in Halifax, where he received his Bachelor's of Education degree.

He resided in Manchester and was a dedicated Educator in the Manchester area for over 30 years, and was a member of the National Education Association for his entire professional career. He also worked for K-Mart in Manchester, NH for over 10 years. He was an avid collector of baseball cards and Pez dispensers, as well as an expert on the local history of Manchester, NH. He also enjoyed spending time researching his family's genealogy.

Besides his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his children, Patricia J. Kirwin of Manchester, NH, J. Andrew Kirwin and his wife Stacie of Manchester, NH, Kathleen M. Kirwin of Merrimack, NH; his grandchildren Mollie Kirwin and Samuel Kirwin, both of Manchester; siblings Marie P. Sweeney, and her husband Dr. William E. of Tewksbury, William J. Kirwin and his wife Virginia M. of Dracut, Agnes E. Owens and her husband Thomas J. of Melbourne, FL, and Patricia A. Kirwin-Keilty and her husband Francis E. Keilty of Lowell; his uncle James A. Deignan of Townsend and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3. ON THURSDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 10 A.M.
