Jacqueline Marie “Jackie” (Giles) Boumel

BOSTON Jacqueline Marie “Jackie” (Giles) Boumel, 56, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, October 31, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with her loving family at her side. She was the wife of Richard M. Boumel with whom she celebrated 37 years of marriage this past September.
A daughter of Marcella (Ingalls) Dowd of Bradenton, Florida and the late Ernest Giles, she was born on May 30, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas. She was educated throughout Tewksbury, Wakefield and Florida, and graduated from Shawsheen Technical High School with the Class of 1978.
Mrs. Boumel worked as a Train Master with the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail for 21 years before illness forced her retirement in November of 2011. Jackie enjoyed flowers and in particular making flower arrangements. She also enjoyed photography and craft projects. More than anything, spending time with her family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Richard of Lowell and her mother, Marcella (Ingalls) Dowd and her stepfather, Richard Dowd of Bradenton, FL; she is survived by her three children, Richard M. Boumel and his wife, Nicole of Methuen, Sandra Marie Baldwin and her husband, Conor of Lowell, and Katherine Lynn Pafume and her husband, Frederick of Lowell. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Joshua and Hailey Boumel of Methuen and McKenzie and Harper Baldwin; her siblings, Dennis Giles and his husband, Paul Hartnett, of Tewksbury, Deborah Reeves and her husband, Fredric of Lynn, David Giles of Florida, Lisa Habberfield of Florida, Eric Dowd of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
