Irene H. Spinelli
CHELMSFORD Irene H. (Groulx) Spinelli, of Chelmsford, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at Genesis Westford House after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Edward M. Spinelli who died in 1977.
A daughter of the late Martin J. and the late Emma H. Groulx, she was born June 12, 1923, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, she was raised and educated in that area. She moved to the United States settling in White River Junction, Vermont, eventually making her home in Lowell, and more recently residing in Chelmsford.
Irene had worked for various Lowell area retail stores including Brooks and Woolworths. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, football, bingo, gambling, scratch tickets, lottery, and most of all enjoyed spending time with family and the family pets, Shana, Betsy Ann, Bridget, and Wylie-Rae.
She is survived by a daughter, Emma Parsons and her husband, Greg, of Chelmsford; her son, Michael J. Groulx of Dunbarton, NH; a grandson, James Hall of Manchester, NH; a grand daughter, Christine Timm of Lowell; her great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Dennis Groulx of Windham, NH.
She was also a sister of the late Armand Groulx.
