Henry W. Caisse
"Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother"
LOWELL Henry W. Caisse, 78, of Lowell, died Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Edna (Thornton) Caisse with whom he would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this year.
A son of the late William and the late Alice (Perron) Caisse, he was born April 1, 1937, in Lowell’s Pawtucketville neighborhood and was raised in that area and educated in the local schools, graduating from St. Joseph High School. He went on to earn a certificate in Diesel Engineering from Lowell Trade School in the early 1950’s.
A lifelong Lowell resident, he enjoyed time spent with his family as well as building and flying model airplanes, fishing, camping, motorcycling, and riding snowmobiles. For over fifty years, he worked in the tile and floor industry, and was the owner and operator of Henry’s Tile and Linoleum.
Besides his wife, Edna, he is survived by his children, Gerald W. Caisse and his wife, Michelle A., of Hudson, NH, and Michelle T. DeVogel and her husband, James, of Littleton; his grandchildren, Taylor M. Caisse, Kerian E. Caisse, and James H. ‘Jamie’ DeVogel; his sisters, Henrietta E. Caisse of Pelham, NH, and Rachel A. Lindberg, of New Durham, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also a brother of the late Raymond R. Caisse.
