Helen Theresa Price
LOWELL Helen Theresa (Makiej) Price, 92, loving wife, mother and grandmother died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Saul Price who passed away in 2012 after Sixty Nine years of Marriage.
Born May 23, 1922, in Clinton, she was the eldest of ten children of the late Wadislaw and the late Bronislawa (Krysiak) Makiej, and moved with her family to Lowell at a young age. She attended St. Stanislaw Grammar School and Lowell High School.
She made her home in the Highlands Section of the City and was a communicant of St. Margaret Church. She loved to sew and Square Danced with her husband as members of the Red Hot Squares. She and Saul traveled extensively with the square dancing group to Spain, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. With her family, she enjoyed summering at the family cottage in Westford and enjoyed her winters spent in Florida. Helen enjoyed sharing her stories of her life adventures, and will be remembered for her words of wisdom -' To get along, you have to go along' and Stay home and see nothing'.
She is survived by children, Paul A. Price and his wife, Joanne K., of Lowell, David J. Price and his wife, Jessie M., of Lowell, Steven Price and his wife, Susan D., of Lowell, Thomas Price of Lowell, Marlene A. Price and her fiancee, Bradley S. Lowe, of Tyngsboro; her twelve grandchildren Aaron Price, Margaret Gillen, Melissa Bourque, Keith Price, Brad Price, Amy Price, and Andrew Price, Danielle Clark, Thomas Price, Kalene Gendron, and Jacob Garbarz and Gabriel Garbarz; her thirteen great grandchildren, Sophie and Augustus Price, Mackenzie and David James Bourque, Devon Sullivan, Damon and Rosalie Clark, Logan, Ethan, Anna Sophia and Emma Price, Cole Gendron, and Lyllah Garbarz; her brothers, Chester, Walter, Francis, John, and Raymond Makiej; a sister, Julia Rosalyn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Maureen Price and sister of the late Veronica Wilson, Peter Makiej, and Joseph Makiej, and was the very close friend of the late Hermoine Limberopoulos.
