Helen Montgomery R.N.

COMMACK, NY        Helen (Conners) Montgomery, 96, of Commack, NY, formerly of Lowell, died Thursday, March 4, at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center. She was the widow of Joseph Montgomery.
Born November 12, 1913, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah S. Connors, and the late Catherine (McNamara) Connors. She attended Sacred Heart Parochial School, and graduated from Lowell High School. She was also a graduate of The Lowell General School of Nursing.

She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church and was a longtime member of The Sacred Heart Holy Rosary and Lowell Sacred Alumni. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with the Edith Nourse Rogers Bedford Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Bedford, MA. and later employed at the Lowell General Hospital.

She is survived by her three daughters, Joanne Kelleher of Commack, NY, Jane Schroeder, and her husband, William, of Marion, NC, and Joyce Zaleski of Sumter, SC; her six grandchildren, John Kelleher of West Covina, CA, Lisa Kelleher and her husband, Tyris Andronis of Pacifica, CA, William Schroeder and his wife, Sharon, of North Hampton, NH, Laurie Allen and her husband, Daniel, of Greensboro, NC, Erin Zaleski of Rock Hill, SC and Joanna Zaleski of Sumter, SC; her five great grandchildren; Emma, Joseph, Talon, Alexandra and Gabriella; and she is also survived by her sister, Agnes Belmissieri of Manchester, NH; and several nieces and nephews..

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 2 UNTIL 5 P.M. ON SUNDAY, MARCH 7.  ON MONDAY HER FUNERAL WILL BE HELD AT 11 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
