Helen R. Champagne
LOWELL Helen R. (Kane) Champagne, 86, of Nashua, died after a long illness, Sunday, May 25, 2009, at home with her loving children by her side. She was the widow of Paul E. Champagne who passed away in 1986.
Born December 9, 1922, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late William Kane and the late Mary (Reed) Kane, attended the local schools, and graduated from Dracut High School.
She resided with her daughter and son in Nashua and in Lowell, and was a communicant of both St. Rita’s Church and St. Michael’s Church. Helen especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and also enjoyed spending time at The Community Family Center in Lowell. She also loved music and flowers and also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida.
She is survived by seven children, Donna M. Champagne of Nashua, Karen R. Hay of Methuen, Maureen E. Champagne of Lowell, Paul W. Champagne of Lowell, Daniel J. Champagne of Nashua, Michael J. Champagne of Lowell and Timothy D. Champagne and his wife, Patricia, of Dracut; five grandchildren, Daniel Champagne of Boston, Krystal Raposo of Billerica, Scott Hay of Methuen, Timothy Champagne of Tewksbury, and William Grandfield of Dracut; and her former son in law, Scott Hay of Methuen.
She was also the beloved Mother of the late Marianne Champagne, and mother in law of the late William Galvin.
