Helen Christiansen
LOWELL Helen Christiansen, 85, of Chelmsford, formerly of Lindenhurst, NY, died unexpectedly following surgery, Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Saints Medical Center.
Born August 7, 1923, in New York, she was a daughter of the late Edward Christiansen, and the late Helen (Sullivan) Christiansen.
She grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She worked as a secretary for over 30 years before she retired to help her brother Edward take care of his five children.
Ms. Christiansen was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church(OLPH) in Lindenhurst, NY and St. Catherine’s Parish in Westford, MA.
She is survived by her brother Eddie's five children, whom she helped raise; Edward J. Christiansen and his wife, Debra, of Seminole, Florida, Diane Feliciano and her husband, David, of Marion, Ohio, Kathleen Christiansen of Tyngsboro, MA, Eileen Otworth and her husband, Edward, of Marion, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Christiansen and his wife, Jean, of Sayville, New York. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was the eldest sister of the late Michael Hanrahan, William Christiansen, Frances Balheimer, Mary Dowling and Joan Vilardi.
