LOWELL Gloria J. (Francisco) Brown, of Lowell, passed away February 1, 2018, at Lowell General Hospital, losing her battle with COPD, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Cleo Surprenant.
Born June 8, 1942 in Lowell to Manuel Francisco and Hazel (Howard) Francisco, she was raised and educated in Lowell and made her lifelong home in Lowell.
Gloria had an incredible Real Estate career for over 50 years throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. She started her career as Gloria J. Brown and Associates in 1968 and opened the Century 21 office in 1972. She has assisted and educated many families and individuals in the area obtaining their lifetime goal of owning their own home.
She served as President of the Century 21 Brokers Council and also served on the Local Board of Realtors as Past President, as well as numerous committees. She was a Past President of the Women's Club of Greater Lowell. She was a member of USA Boxing and was a timekeeper at the Lowell Golden Gloves.
G.J.’s family and friends were her everything. She enjoyed spending time with them, especially with her grandchildren and their family trips to Florida.
Anyone who knew her will remember Gloria as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be truly missed for her great words of wisdom and advice, Love Ya!!!!
In addition to her loving husband, Cleo, she is survived by sons, Michael Brown and his wife, Elyse, of Dracut and Daniel Surprenant and wife, Elana, of Michigan; her sisters, Patricia Ash and her husband, Floyd of Westford, Laurie Purcell of Dracut; her grandchildren, Dr. Rene Brown (Savard) of Texas, Rebecca King of CA, Robin Brown of AZ, Lindsay Averbook of Wilmington, Brandon Reid of Melrose, Brent Purcell of Lowell, Hailey Brown of TN, Ashley Brown of Lowell, Ryan and Joshua Brown of Dracut and Alan Surprenant and wife, Susanna, of Michigan. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Sereia and Maxwell; and her niece and nephew, Timothy Ash and family of Groton, and Laura Lee Muldoon and family of Ayer.
