Gertrude Y. Hildreth
LOWELL Gertrude Y. (Boisvert) Hildreth, 80, of Lowell, died Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Town and Country Nursing Home after a long illness with her family at her side. She was the widow of the late Walter R. Hildreth Sr.
A daughter of the late Felicien and the late Alice (Soucy) Boisvert, she was born April 25, 1929, in Dracut, and educated in the Dracut School System.
Mrs. Hildreth made her home in Lowell for more than fifty years, and retired from Commodore Foods where she had worked as a packer for over twenty years. She enjoyed her large family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Music was her favorite pastime and she could be found listening to music or singing, especially her personal favorite “You Are My Sunshine”. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.
She is survived by her seven children, James Hildreth and his wife, Louise, of Lowell, Charles Hildreth and his wife, Rose, of Lowell, Walter R. Hildreth Jr. and Theresa Coates, of Tyngsboro, Phillip Hildreth and his wife, Joann, of Lowell, John Hildreth and his wife, Tina, of Lowell, Alice Gregoire and her husband, David, of Chelmsford, and Ellen McMeniman of Lowell; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Barron of Dracut; two brothers and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Boisvert of Dracut, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Boisvert of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the grandmother of the late Jennifer Gregoire who passed away in 2004 and the late Joey Hildreth who passed away in 2006.
