Georgina (Silva) Silva
Georgina (Silva) Silva, 95, of Lowell, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Heritage Nursing Care Center. She was the widow of the late Francisco Silva who died in 1993.
Born October 26, 1914, in Lowell,she was a daughter of the late Manuel and the late Rosa (Silva) Silva. At the age of six, she moved back to Portugal after her fathers death with her mother and her brother, John. She was educated in Graciosa, and married Francisco in Graciosa. In 1952, she came back to the United States with her family, settling in Lowell. She made her home in the Back Central Street area of the City, and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Society.
Georgina enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making quilts, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Eulalia Pereira of Lowell; her son, Herondino ‘Dino’ Silva of Lowell; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Abelio Silva who died in 2001.
