Georgina A. 'Gina''Gigi' Pacheco

LOWELL Georgina A. 'Gina''Gigi' Pacheco, 62, of Lowell, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was the wife of Edmundo Pacheco with whom she would have celebrated their Thirty Ninth Wedding Anniversary this March.

Born January 14, 1951, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Fernando J. and the late Luisa M. (Mendonca) Teixeira. She came to the United States at the age of ten settling in Somerville where she grew up and was educated.
She worked at the Ames Envelope Company in Somerville for many years, and more recently worked in the billing department for Lowell General Hospital until disability forced her retirement.

Family was very important to Gina, she loved spending time with her family.She was a good cook, enjoyed spending time at home, and was always willing to help people. A communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, she was also a member of the Portuguese Holy Ghost Club of Woburn where she enjoyed volunteering and socializing. She also enjoyed traveling on cruises and recently went back to the Azores. Also she loved spending time with her faithful dog, Buddy Bubba Pacheco.

In addition to her loving husband, Edmundo, she is survived by her siblings, Lucy Teixeira of West Palm Beach, FL, Joseph Teixeira and his wife, Angelica, of Jupiter, FL, Maria Isabel Whalen and her husband, Michael, of Haverhill, and John Teixeira and his wife, Karen, of Hull; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members in Canada.

She was a sister of the late Maria Grace Abrantes and a sister in law of the late Francisco Pacheco.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON FRIDAY, FEB 15. ON SATURDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 11:30 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL ST., LOWELL AT 12:30 P.M.. BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY.
