Genevieve Mary (Pilawski) Jaros
CONCORD, MA Genevieve Mary (Pilawski) Jaros, age 101, died October 9, 2016 at Care One at Concord, Concord, Massachusetts.
Genevieve was born in Richmond, Virginia on April 10, 1915 to Charles and Barbara Pilawski. At a young age, she and her family moved to Lowell, Massachusetts. She attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School in 1933. On November 3, 1935, she was united in marriage to William Edward Jaros. They lived in Lowell and had two children, Barbara Mary and William Edward, Jr. She worked in the Lowell office of the Social Services Division of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until her retirement in 1980. After the death of her husband, she continued to live in Lowell until 2005 when she moved to Concord to be closer to her son. She enjoyed time with family and friends and solving crossword puzzles.
Genevieve is survived by her children, daughter Barbara Nelson of Litchfield, Minnesota and son, William and Bernadette of Newburyport, MA. Also survived by grandchildren, Peter, Jennifer, David, Plymouth and step-grandson Frank, ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, her parents, sister Viola Hodge, brother Henry, son-in-law Dixon, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 17, YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND HER VISITATION FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL 11 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL, 978-458-6816.
HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE VISITATION AT 11 A.M. IN THE FUNERAL HOME.
PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL AT HOLY TRINITY POLISH CEMETERY.
