Neogenio R. ‘Gene’ Bettencourt
LOWELL Neogenio R. ‘Gene’ Bettencourt, 51, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 2, 2016 at his family home.
He was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on June 16, 1965 and was a son of the late Joao Bettencourt, and Antonieta Gil (Ramos) Bettencourt who survives him.
He resided in the Back Central Street neighborhood and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. Gene enjoyed building models, working on and fixing computers, playing computer games, and watching old TV shows from the 1950’s. Although he had many passions throughout his life, spending time with his family at home brought him the most happines.
In addition to his mother, Antonieta, he is survived by his six siblings, Maria Bettencourt and her husband, Serafim of Chelmsford, Denia Cunha and her husband, Manuel of Lowell, Valdemar Bettencourt and his wife, Xiaopei Wang of Nashua, George Bettencourt and his wife, Kathy of Lowell, Aginaldo Bettencourt and his wife, Elizabeth of Lowell, and Teresa Bettencourt of Mississippi; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members
