Wilhemina L. Gouveia
GOSHEN, NY Wilhemina (Leite) Gouveia, 93, of Goshen, NY, formerly of Lowell and Dracut, died Jan 9, 2008 at Arden Hill Hospital in New York. She was the beloved wife of the late Gabriel Gouveia who died Oct. 1983.
Born May 30, 1914, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Belarmino DaCunha Leite and the late Violante (Sousa) Leite, and was educated in the local schools.
She made her home in Lowell for many years, and was an active parishoner of St. Anthony’s Church before making her home in Dracut. She was a member and an officer of the Holy Ghost Society and the Ladies Sodality. Mrs. Gouveia also served with the Foster Grandparent Program in the Dracut Public Schools. She had worked as a bookkeeper for EG&G in Bedford for many years before her retirement. More recently she made her home in Goshen, New York.
She is survived by her children, Dolores M. Katavolos of Highland Mills, NY, Gabriel J. Gouveia and his wife, Linda Chance, of Acton, and William A. Gouveia and his wife, Sharon (Silva), of Belmont; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren.
