Frederick M. Finnerty

HOPKINTON, NH Frederick M. Finnerty, 75, formerly of N. Billerica and Lowell, died Saturday, August 18, 2012, in Manchester, New Hampshire, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Munnis) Finnerty to whom he was married for the past Fifty Four years.
Born in Lowell on June 28, 1937, he was a son of the late Patrick J. Finnerty and Dorothy O. (Bouvier) Finnerty and was educated in the Lowell Schools.

Mr. Finnerty was a Korean War Veteran, having served his Country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. He was a member of the Sons of the Civil War Veterans, Vermont Chapter, and a Veteran of Foreign Wars member, and was also a member of the American Legion of Contoocook, NH.

Prior to retirement in 1995, Mr. Finnerty was a Sales Executive with multiple companies including ownership of two wire and cable companies spanning over more than forty years. For the last eight years, Mr. Finnerty was the Animal Control Officer for Hopkinton, NH, and also directed traffic at the Cracker Barrel intersection in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, where he was known as the ‘Cracker Barrel Cop’.

When not enjoying time with his family, Fred was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, canoeing, and golfing.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his daughters, Edith D. Boudreau and her husband, Richard, of Tyngsboro, and Karen M. Giaquinto and her husband, Robert, of Hudson, NH; three granddaughters whom he loved dearly, Stephanie Boudreau and Kate and Kelly Giaquinto; four sisters, Marilyn Delaney and her husband, James, Valida Locke and her husband, Leon, Loretta Pierce and her husband, Elvis, and Sharon Finnerty; as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Sarah Finnerty and the late Susan Finnerty, and brother of the late Hugh Finnerty.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22. ON THURSDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 8:30 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS ST., LOWELL AT 9:30 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST.
