Francisca C. Leite
‘Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, God Mother and Friend"
LOWELL Francisca C. Leite, 82, of Lowell, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at her Lowell home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Eliseu C. Leite who passed away in 2004.
A daughter of the late Manuel C. and the late Cidalia A. da Silva, she was born January 6, 1931, in Vitoria, Graciosa, Azores, where she was educated. She married and started her family there. She was a homemaker and loved to do embroidery.
In 1968, she moved with her family to the United States settling briefly in Turlock, California, and then moved to Lowell where she made her home on Central Street until her death. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, and loved being at home and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, and now her great grandchildren. Crocheting was her hobby as well as cooking, especially Portuguese Soup.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria G. Meneses and her husband, Diamantino, of Lowell; her grand daughters, Sandra M. Meneses-Faria and her husband, Luis P., of Lowell and Elizabeth M. Cruz and her husband, Sergio P., of Tewksbury; her great grandchildren, Alexia M. Faria, Sydney M. Faria, and Avery M. Cruz.
