Faith Marie ‘Fay’ Landry

NASHUA NH Faith Marie ‘Fay’ (Gilbert) Landry, 78, of Nashua, New Hampshire, died Friday, September 17, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua after a brief illness. She was the wife of Raymond W. Landry. She was the last surviving sibling of four children, Lewis Richter, Ruth Smith and Hope Cummings.

Born July 26, 1932, in Auburn, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Philip and the late Frances (Lumiansky) Gilbert, and was educated in Auburn, Maine, graduating from Edward Little High School in Auburn. She then made her home in Hudson, Maynard, and Lowell Massachusetts before residing in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Fay loved music, especially jazz, and enjoyed gardening, nature and all animals. She was a Brownie leader in Maynard, MA and a CCD Teacher for St. Michael's Parish in Hudson, MA.

She formerly owned and operated Faith Landry Fine Arts, and was one of the first employees of Digital Corporation in Maynard and she enjoyed the companionship of her beloved sassafrass poodle, "Whimsey". But most of all, she adored her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Raymond, she is survived by her daughter, Patricia Marie Landry of Ipswich, and her son, William Hewett and his wife, Lynne, of Lakeville; her grandchildren, Colin J. Landry-Stanton of Gloucester, Kristen Hewett of Lakeville, Sean Hewett and Jason Hewett; her sisters in law, Lorraine Cormier of Lowell, Pauline Hoar of Lowell, and Eva Landry of Reno, Nevada; her brother in law, Richard Landry and his wife, Marcia, of Littleton; her beloved nieces and nephews, Christine Brzocowski, Pamela, David and Frank Smith, Barbara Wicklman, John Cummings, Evelyn Clayton, Anita Ward, Dianne Jordan, Constance Dinsmore, Michael, Thomas and Dennis Hoar, Charles, William, Leo, and Richard Cormier, and David Landry.

She was the sister in law of the late Charlie Cormier, the late George Hoar, the late William Landry, and aunt of the late Paul Smith.
