Elvira ‘Vera’ Camacho
LOWELL Elvira (Souza) Camacho, 92, of Lowell, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Saints Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of Oscar Camacho for over Fifty Years.
Born December 28, 1917, in Lowell, she was educated in the local schools.
She made her home in the Highlands Section of the City, and was a cafeteria assistant for the School Department. A devout Catholic, she was communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. She prayed every day for anyone sick or for anyone who asked her to pray for them. Vera enjoyed baking many pies to give to all her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Besides her husband, Oscar, she is survived by her daughters, Shirley Guild and her husband, Chester, of Lancaster, and Dolores Christman and her husband, Rene, of Lowell; her grandchildren, Darren Guild, Brian Christman and his wife, Jane, and Christine Simpson and Scott Simpson; her great grandchildren, Keith Christman, Kyle Christman, Ashley Simpson,and Benjamin Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late John Souza.
