Elizabeth Rollins
LOWELL Elizabeth (Hatch) Rollins, 78, of Lowell, died after a long illness, Friday, August 14, 2009, at Heritage Nursing Care Center. She was the widow of James Rollins, who passed away in 1992.
Born September 13, 1930, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late John Hatch, and the late Elizabeth (Barnford) Hatch, she was educated in the area.
Mrs. Rollins was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church and was currently a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, in which she was very active. When she wasn’t volunteering at her church, she enjoyed bingo, knitting, crocheting and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
She was a lifelong resident of The Acre Neighborhood of Lowell, and worked for the Lowell Sun delivering papers for many years before her retirement.
She is survived by six children, Kathleen Cappella of Lowell, Darlene Laroe and her longtime companion, Richard Lambert of Nashua, NH, Mary Elizabeth Chronopoulos of Lowell, Charles Rollins of Lowell, Bernadette Connor and her husband, Paul, of Lowell; a sister, Patricia Gagnon of Lowell; a brother John Hatch and his wife, Carol, of California; fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her longtime friend and cousin, Maureen Lanctot of Maine. She was also the mother of the late Kenneth Rollins, and Wanda Ann Rollins, and sister of the late Thomas Hatch.
