Eleanor G. (Silva) Nastasia
LOWELL Eleanor G. (Silva) Nastasia, 93, of Lowell, died peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late Frank M. Nastasia who passed away in 1991 after 45 years of marriage.
She was born in Lowell on January 4, 1925 and was a daughter of the late Francis Silva and the late Mary (Espinola) Silva. She was raised in Lowell, where she attended the area schools, graduating from Lowell High School.
Eleanor was a lifelong Lowell resident and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. She was employed as an office clerk for McQuades and worked helping her father for many years at the family wallpaper business.
She loved shopping, reading, doing crossword puzzles, taking long walks, and spending time at the beach. Twinkies were her favorite and she would love it if everyone would enjoy a Twinkie in her honor. Above all else, her favorite times were spent with her family and grandchildren.
Eleanor is survived by two children, Frank A. Nastasia and his wife, Laurie (Swain) of Lowell, Ellie Macklin and her husband, Ralph of Tyngsboro; her grandchildren, Lori and Brian Turner of Windham, NH, Keri Lopes and her fiancé, Eric Deremer of Nashua, NH, and Kim and John Oliveira of Windham, NH. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Lauryn and Brooke Turner, Jake and Brian Lopes, Alex, Aidan and Charleigh Oliveira. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters the late Madeline Silva, the late Laura Rindo and the late Mary Harrington.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Jessica Weiselquist and Dr. Omar Ali for their compassion and dedication while taking care of Eleanor during this time.

HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED FRIDAY AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL AT 11 A.M.. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
