Edward M. Zaniewski
WWII Veteran
LOWELL Edward M. Zaniewski, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Sunday, November 28, 2010, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Alice (Caron) Zaniewski, with whom he celebrated their Sixty Ninth Wedding Anniversary this year.
The son of the late Lucien and the late Blanche (Zimnni) Zaniewski, he was born in Lowell, and educated in the local school system.
Mr. Zaniewski worked as a Foreman at the former Educator Cookie Company, and then as a Storekeeper for Raytheon in South Lowell. He retired from Raytheon after twenty five years of service. He was an active member of the Lowell Veteran’s Association, and until his illness, the Lowell Association for the Blind. He loved sports and more recently enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods with his family.
Besides his wife, Alice, he is survived by his children, Harry Zaniewski and his wife, Genevieve, of Orange City, FL, Lee Shurtleff and her husband, Joseph, of Dracut, Karen Trzcienski and her husband, Michael, of Dracut, and Edward Zaniewski and his wife, Ellen, of Sandwich; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his sisters, Dorothy Yeschanin of Lowell, and Lillian Prudhomme of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Leo Zaniewski.
