John W. Eastwood
John Eastwood, 84, a lifelong Lowell resident, died May 23, at Saints Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born December 12, 1923, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Charles E. and the late Frances E. (Lambert) Eastwood, attended the Lowell Schools, and graduated from Lowell High School.
Mr. Eastwood made his home in Lowell and was a communicant of the former Notre Dame DeLourdes Parish. He worked for Lowell General Hospital for more than forty years, retiring in 1991. John also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
He is survived by a sister Eleanor Purpura, of Lowell; a brother and sister in law, Ira Eastwood and his wife, Pauline, of Peabody; and several nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and grand nephews. He is also survived by many friends including the staff and residents at the Horn Home.
He was also the brother of the late Charles Eastwood Jr., the late Jane Rochon, and the late Frances Delaney.
The family of John would like to acknowledge the Horn Home for the Aged for the years of love and care he received during the time shared with them.
