Dorothy Lynne ‘Dot’ Kimmel
LOWELL Dorothy Lynne ‘Dot’ Kimmel, 66 of Lowell, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was born in Lowell on July 8, 1953 and was a daughter of the late Albert Sturtevant and the late Gladys (Lebeouf) Sturtevant. She was raised in Dracut, where she attended the area schools, graduating from Dracut High School.
She was a voracious reader and she loved history and foreign culture. She was a staunch democrat and enjoyed following politics. Her hobbies included pencil drawing, scrap booking, and watercolor painting.
Above all else, she enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her granddaughter, Isabella, who was the light of her life.
Dot is survived by her two sons, Dennis Kimmel of Lowell and Daniel Kimmel and his wife, April of Haverhill; her granddaughter, Isabella Lynn Kimmel of New Ipswich, NH, and her beloved cat, Shadow. She is also survived by her siblings, Patricia ‘Pat’ O’Connor of Lowell, Peggy McLoud and her husband, Richard of Lowell, and Ronald Sturtevant and his wife, Ellen of Plymouth, MA; her former husband, James Kimmel; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her sister, the late Gail McDonald, and her beloved brother the late Albert William Sturtevant III, with whom she was very close with before he passed away at a young age.
ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 2019, HER COMMITTAL PRAYERS WILL BE HELD AT ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY CHAPEL, 96 RIVERNECK ROAD, CHELMSFORD AT 11 A.M..
