Dorothy M. Legere

NASHUA, NH Dorothy M. (Brown) (Malenfant) Legere, 68, of Lowell, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare Center in Nashua, New Hampshire, after a brave battle with an illness.
Born January 27, 1942, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Charles Earl Brown, and the late Florette (Bellemare) Jones and her husband, Bruce Jones, and was raised in the Acre Section of the City, and attended the local schools. She made her home in Lowell until fifteen years ago when she relocated to Nashua, New Hampshire

Dorothy had worked at New Knit Manufacturing of Lowell before working at Avco. After her retirement, She was a key volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program at Sullivan Terrace in Nashua, New Hampshire.

In her spare time, she enjoyed Bingo, knitting, and loved to cook for the Holidays, making her famous French Canadian delicacies such as tourtieres (French Pork Pies) and Gorton (Pork Stuffing), and was especially fond of an occasional outing for a fried fisherman seafood platter.

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie J. Malenfant and Michael H. Malenfant both formerly of Lowell and currently residing in Nashua, NH; her brothers and sisters, Shirley Longeway and her husband, Scott, of Hollis, NH, Robert Brown and his wife, Barbara, of Pittsburgh, PA, Cynthia LeDoux and her husband, Malcolm, of Nashua, NH, Albert Brown and his wife, Paula, of Nashua, NH, Omer Racicot and his wife, Sheila, of North Chelmsford, and Richard Racicot of Lowell; several nieces and nehews; and her very close friends in Nashua, Tony Donnelly, Pat Farrington, Claire Provencher, Ellie Allard, and Brian Keohan.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER VISITATION 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON THURSDAY, APRIL 15, AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 8 P.M. FOLLOWING THE VISITATION. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS MEMORIALS IN HER NAME MAY BE MADE TO MEALS ON WHEELS NEW HAMPSHIRE C/O ST.
