Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister
NASHUA, NH Dorothy J. 'Dot' (Davis) Murphy, 77, of Nashua, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home in Nashua. She was the wife of Larry 'Butch' Murphy with whom she celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary April 8, 2013.
Born June 23, 1935, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur L. and the late Ellen (Bergsten) Davis, attended the local area schools, graduating from Lowell High School with the class of 1953.
Dot was employed as an office auditor at Cherry & Web before working in the cafeteria at the Riverside School, and later the Riley School and the Butler School. She enjoyed traveling with her family, watching hockey, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed attending the Bergsten Family Reunions.
In addition to her beloved husband, Butch, she is survived by their son, Larry Murphy and his wife, Michelle of Nashua; two grandchildren, Stephanie Murphy and Adam Murphy both of Nashua; a sister, Lillian Garside and her husband, Karl of Westford; and her close friends, Shirley Lombard and Mary Langill both of Lowell.
She was also the sister of the late Kathleen Davis.
