Doris Ruth Carville
LOWELL Doris Ruth (Sander) Carville, 71, of Lowell, passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday evening, October 9, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Richard Carville with whom she shared the last 32 years.
She was born in Boston on January 3, 1945 and was a daughter of the late Ralph Hugo Sander and the late Doris Mary (Marden) Sander. She was raised in Jamaica Plain and Malden, where she attended the area schools, graduating from Malden High School. She then furthered her education at Middlesex Community College.
A resident of Lowell for the past 22 years, Doris was a communicant of St. Rita’s Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was employed as a materials analyst with Wang Laboratories for over 10 years before working for the Lowell Police Department within the Records Bureau for over 10 years before her retirement. She also volunteered and worked as a crossing guard for many years.
In addition to her beloved husband, Richard, she is survived by her sister, Judy King and her husband, James, of Lowell, her longtime friend Barbara Lavoie of New Hampshire, who was like a sister to her, her son, Timothy Last and his wife, Lisa, of Ayer, her daughter, Sandra Last and her boyfriend, Paul Peterson of Billerica, her stepchildren; Cheryl Carville of Lowell, David Carville and his wife, Dina, of Pelham, NH and Malissa (Carville) Witkum and her husband, Todd, of Manchester, NH, her grandchildren; Claire Last, Kassandra Last, Samantha and Jade Carville, Sean and Emily Carville, Hanae, Mari and Joe Witkum and her great grandchildren; Alanna, Gabriela and Mason.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON THURSDAY OCTOBER 13 AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL, MA 01852. HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14 AT 9 A.M. AT THE FUNERAL HOME. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. RITA’S CHURCH, 158 MAMMOTH ROAD, LOWELL, MA, AT 10 A.M..
