Domingo Ortiz
LOWELL Domingo Ortiz, 83, of Lowell, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at his home after a brief illness.
Born December 23, 1924, in Patillas, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Ramon Ortiz and the late Victoria (Morales) Ortiz, and was raised and educated in that area. After graduating High School, he served with the United States Army for eight years.
He came to New York in the 1950’s before moving to Lowell in 1973. He worked for the Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans’ Hospital in Bedford in maintenance for twenty years before retiring. He enjoyed playing Dominos with his friends at local sports bars, and enjoyed listening to Latin Music.
He is survived by nine children, Wilfredo Rivera of Lowell, Margie Rivera of Puerto Rico, Michael Rivera of Florida, Domingo Rivera Jr. of New York, Jimmie Rivera of Lowell, Ramon Rivera of Boston, Miguel Rivera and his wife, Suheil, of New York, Daisy Rivera of Lowell, and Roberto Rivera of Lowell; many grandchilren; many great grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Jose Ortiz of New York and Daniel Ortiz of Worcester, and a sister, Nandy Ortiz of New York; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, including Mandella Medina; and many close friends.
He was also the father of the late Carmen I. Rivera and the late Jose A. Rivera and was the brother of the late Gloria Ortiz.

HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT 11 A.M.
