David ‘Lonely Buffalo’ Del Rossi
LOWELL      David ‘Lonely Buffalo’ Del Rossi, 63, of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Thursday, February 24, surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Joan (McMenimen) Del Rossi with whom he would have celebrated their Thirty Fourth Wedding Anniversary this coming June.
      A son of the late Massimo and the late Lucy (Brandano) Del Rossi, he was born November 1, 1947, in Stoneham, and grew up in Malden, graduating from Malden High School.  He went on to attend Northeastern University and Bentley University.  David met and married Joan and relocated to Lowell, where he lived for the past thirty four years, and was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church.
     Mr. Del Rossi loved his family and his grand daughter, and enjoyed traveling with them to Las Vegas.  He was known as a collector and enjoyed collecting many things including casino chips, stamps, and coins.   An avid sports fan, he was a dedicated fan of all the New England Teams.  He also enjoyed Western movies, horses, and horse racing.
     He worked as a tax liaison for the for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until his retirement.
      Besides his wife, Joan, he is survived by his children, David Del Rossi II and his wife, Holly, of Providence, RI, Eileen Del Rossi, Diana Del Rossi, and Paula Del Rossi, all of Lowell, Lucy Rutledge of Rutland, MA and Jenny Del Rossi of Texas; four grandchildren, Hailey Del Rossi of Merrimack, NH, Andrew Del Rossi of Boston, and Cameron Gurley and Brandon Gurley both of Rutland, MA; his sisters, Mary Hardy and Geraldine Coricelli; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved black Labrador retriever, Max.
     He was also a son in law of the late Eileen McMenimen who died December 2010.
        YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 2 UNTIL 6 P.M. ON SUNDAY.   ON MONDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 8 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.  HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MICHAEL’S CHURCH AT 9 A.M. FOLLOWED BY COMMITTAL PRAYERS IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
