David C. ‘Dave’ Otte Sr.
World War II and Korean War Veteran, Beloved Family Man

HUDSON, NH David C. ‘Dave’ Otte, Sr., 85, U. S. Army Veteran and devoted family man and friend to all, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire. He was the loving husband of Genevieve (Caulfield) Otte, with whom he would have celebrated their Fifty Seventh Wedding Anniversary later this month.
A son of the late Charles and the late Clara (Horton) Otte, he was born June 21, 1927, in New Britain, CT, and was educated in that area.
At the age of eighteen, he joined the United States Army, serving during World War II, and rejoined serving with the Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he relocated to the Lowell area, settling in Billerica. He worked for Raytheon Corporation as a panograph operator for thirty six years prior to his retirement.
Dave enjoyed conversations with family, friends, and anyone around him. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and he excelled in cake decorating for his family and friends. In addition, he was an avid fisherman, a past Commander of the Tewksbury American Legion, and was a dedicated member of the Highland Players for twenty three years. He will be fondly remembered by his beloved neighbors and friends in Billerica, and in the Village at Reeds Brook in Hudson, NH.
In addition to his wife, Genevieve, he is survived by his children, David Otte Jr. and his wife, Lorina, of Methuen, Chris Otte and his wife, Tina, of Hollis, NH, Marilyn Lembo and her husband, Randy, of Methuen, and David ‘Chipper’ Otte of Winchester; his grandchildren, Laura Silva, and her husband, Robert, of Lowell, Jennifer Naffah of Methuen, Erika Otte and Quintin Otte of Milton, NH, Emily Otte of Hollis, and Casey L'Heureux of Nashua; great grandchildren, Lilliana Silva and Landon Silva of Lowell; his brothers, Henry Otte and his wife, Irene, of West Hartford, CT and Francis Otte of Somerset, CT; his sisters, Lillian Stetson of Somerset, CT, and Violet Fletcher and her husband, Louis, of Stafford Springs, CT; his sister in law, Mary Recco of Lowell; his brothers in law, Edward ‘Bud’ Caulfield and his wife, Diana, of Lowell, and John Caulfield and his wife, Gail, of Greer, SC; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews
He was also a brother of the late Rose Ricketts, uncle of the late Jeff Otte, brother in law of the late Albert Recco, and son in law of his beloved deceased mother in law Margaret (McSorley) Caulfield.
