Retired Lowell Firefighter, N.Y. Yankees fan
LOWELL Daniel R. Correa, 91, of Lowell passed away on Wednesday, August 19, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 29, 1924, in Lowell, he was the son of the late Manuel P. Correa, and the late Mary (Picanso) Correa. He was born and raised in the Back Central Neighborhood. He attended the Lowell schools.
He served in the Navy during WWII as a Seabee. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
After his discharge he married Constance (Wilson) Correa who predeceased him in 1995.
He served the city of Lowell Fire Department for 41 years on Engine #1 and Engine #11, and also Ladder #1. He was also a manager of the Portuguese American Center. He was the happiest when the N.Y. Yankees were beating up on the Red Sox.
He leaves behind his son, Daniel Correa Jr. of Lowell, his brother Anthony and Edward Correa. He is also survived by his grand daughter, and three great grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Richard Correa who passed away in 1984, and the brother of the late Georgia M. Visocchi.

HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT THE FUNERAL HOME ON MONDAY MORNING AT 9 A.M. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE CELEBRATED AT 10 A.M. AT ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL, MA.
