Daniel P. ‘Dan’ Gill, Sr.
TEWKSBURY Daniel P. ‘Dan’ Gill, Sr., a resident of Tewksbury for the past twenty four years, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, September 17, 2017, after an accident while off roading on his ATV. For the past fifty one years, he was the beloved husband of Madeline R. (Shea) Gill.
A son of the late Patrick F. and the late Gertrude Anne (Kelley) Gill, he was born September 24, 1939, in Lowell, and was raised in the Acre Section of the City and educated in the local schools, attending St. Patrick Grammar School and graduating from Lowell Trade and Vocational High School. He served with the United States Air Force in Morocco for 4 years until his honorable discharge.
Mr. Gill lived in Lowell for most of his life, until moving to Tewksbury in 1993. He was a dedicated communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Downtown Lowell, where he attended Mass almost daily. While living in Lowell, he was also a communicant of St. Margaret Parish.
An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the Pelham Rod & Gun Club, NRA, and the New Hampshire ATV Club. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as scuba diving, and photography. In addition, he loved to ride off road, and he looked forward to his yearly family vacations to Moosehead Lake and Vermont.
He was employed as a plant supervisor for National Grid for over thirty six years before his retirement.
Besides his loving wife, Madeline, he is survived by his children, Daniel P. Gill, Jr., and his wife, Jessica, of Groton, and Kelly A. Sullivan and her husband, Kevin, of Lowell; his grandchildren, Kevin Sullivan, Jr., Christopher Sullivan, and Daniel Sullivan, all of Lowell, and Emma Gill and Aidan Gill of Groton; his grand daughter in law, Jennifer Sullivan of Lowell; his brothers, William Gill of Nashua, NH, and Jack Gill and his wife, Beverly, of Cape Cod; his sisters, Sr. Patricia Gill of Ipswich, Gertrude Brophy and her husband, Lenny, of Rhode Island, and Peggy Latulippe of Methuen; his sister in law, Mildred Carnett and her husband, Nick, of Derry, NH; his brother in law, Charles Shea, and his wife, Marilee, of California; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the grandfather of the late Patrick Sullivan and brother of the late Barbara Monette, the late Francis Kirkpatrick, and the late Virginia Maziarz.

HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED TUESDAY AT ST. MARGARET PARISH, 374 STEVENS ST., LOWELL, AT 10 A.M..
