Dale Lee Maryland

WEEKI WACHEE, FL                  Dale Lee Maryland, 68, of Weeki Wachee, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (Thomas) Maryland with whom he shared the last 41 years.

Dale was born in Wilson, NC on July 4, 1950 and was a son of the late John Maryland and the late Mattie Williams. He was raised in Lowell, where he attended the area schools. He was a lifelong Lowell resident until seven years ago when he retired and moved to Weeki Wachee, Florida with his wife.  Dale retired from Hanscom Air Force Base where he was a very dedicated and loyal worker for many years.

Dale cherished every moment he spent with his friends and family. He was an avid golfer and his goal was to someday challenge Tiger Woods. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping trips in Maine, yearly vacations in North Conway, and trips to the tropics. Most recently, he looked forward to cruising the open ocean visiting a variety of places, visits from his family to his home, and visiting Lowell every summer to see his family.  He loved anything that had to do with sports, but enjoyed playing both basketball and hockey.

Dale’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his wife and soul mate Mary Lou Maryland, his three children, Dale Maryland Jr. of Pepperell, MA, Alicia Maryland of Lowell, MA, and Justin Maryland of Delaware. He is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren, siblings, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 24, YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL 12 NOON AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD IN THE FUNERAL HOME FRIDAY AT 12 NOON. FOLLOWED BY PROCESSION TO ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
