Cornelia Maria McShane
LOWELL Cornelia Maria (Altena) McShane, 81, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at her home after a long illness.
She was born on September 17, 1936 in Den Dolder, Netherlands, and was a daughter of the late Willem and the late Theresa (Folbommer) Altena. She was raised and educated in the Netherlands.
In the early 1960’s, Cornelia met her husband, Dennis McShane while he was in the United States Air Force. After their marriage in August of 1964, they loved together in the Netherlands until 1965, when they relocated to the United States, settling in Lowell. They have since shared the last fifty three years of marriage. She was formerly employed as an accounting clerk for the Dutch Railroad System for many years until her retirement.
Cornelia is survived by her two children, Roy McShane of Lowell and Sabrina McShane of Salem, NH; and her brother, Willem Altena of the Netherlands. She is also survived by her four brothers in law, Bernard McShane of Rockville, MD, Jerome McShane of Concord, CA, John McShane and his wife, Linda of Riverside, IL, and Tom McShane of Skokie, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
