Constantine E. ‘Charlie’ ‘Costy’ Deveres

LOWELL Constantine E. ‘Charlie’ ‘Costy’ Deveres, 83, of Lowell, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Marguerite (Rynne) Deveres, with whom he would have celebrated their Fifty Third Wedding Anniversary, yesterday, July 13.

A son of the late Elias and the late Fanny (Milonas) Deveres, he was born September 24, 1929, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in Tewksbury before joining the United States Army during High School.

He made his home in the Belvedere Section of the City, and was a member of Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church and also a member of the Greek American Legion.

Mr. Deveres enjoyed traveling and dancing at the Commodore Ball Room, where he met his wife, Marguerite.
He worked as a bus driver for Blanchard Charter service in Tewksbury before working for Mini Coach of Boston, also Coach USA, and he retired from Tewksbury Transit in 2007.

Besides his wife, Marguerite, he is survived by his daughter, Constance Deveres of St. George, Utah; his grandson, Kristofor Deveres of Lowell; his brother, Ernest E. Deveres and his wife, Patricia, of Lowell; his great grand daughter, Alena Deveres of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews as well as many grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was also a brother of the late Alexander Deveres.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON MONDAY, JULY 15. ON TUESDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT TRANSFIGURATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 25 FR. JOHN SARANTOS WAY, LOWELL AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN WESTLAWN CEMETERY.
